In 2015, Superstar set out to reach a community of creators and inspire youth culture to express their inner talents.
We sought out and nominated 10 female high school students as #OriginalSuperstars and activated Superstar for women across the nation.
We reached out to unknown high-school design students to get their vision of the next generation of Superstar. Through a partnership with the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising (FIDM) in LA, we sought out female students who were leading their schools creativity in fashion design. As part of the FIDM Fashion Club program, ten highly gifted students were selected out of hundreds of applicants to cultivate, inspire and create the style of the Women’s Superstar lookbook. Each of the ten girls were tasked with styling one look to be modeled and photographed for the final lookbook. The experience allowed the girls to gain real work experience on a high fashion photoshoot, working with professional stylists and photographers for the very first time.
To celebrate the collaboration, the four influencers as well as the ten FIDM students came together to release their work at HVW8 gallery in LA unveiling the women of Superstar project. The students’ incredible talent was hung on the walls as inspiration to an entire culture of Superstar.
